On April 25, U.S. local time, welcomed and guided by Mr. Dong Zhiqiang, general manager of GD (U.S) and GD (Mexico), the following people as Ms. Terri Sewell, member of the U.S Congress, Mr. Sheldon Day, mayor of Thomasville, Mr. Roberta Jordan, mayor of Matsuyama, and Mr. John Moton, chairman of Wilcox County Council and other six person visited GD COPPER (U.S.A.), INC.
Ms. Terri Sewell et al. were accompanied by Mr. Dong Zhiqiang and his colleagues to GD COPPER (U.S.A.), INC.
Seeing the factory workers of all colors work orderly, Ms. Terri Sewell asked about the matters like the staff attendance, the relationship and interaction between local and Chinese employees, and Mr. Dong Zhiqiang answered that GD (U.S.A) has been treating all its employee the same; besides, we always collaborate with local communities and support local business; our company has created more than 300 jobs for local people, among those 90% are African Americans who will be always welcomed to join us; furthermore, our company has developed appropriate incentives and penalties mechanism to improve the attendance. Ms. Terri Sewell showed great appreciation for Dong’s remark and said she would like to help GD (U.S.A) for a better tomorrow.
Walking through the spacious and bright workshop, smile hang on everyone’s face is the best langue. Mr. Dong Zhiqiang referred to GD (U.S.A) believes that according to skill training all of our U.S staff will be qualified in the near future. For better exchange, our company offers Chinese staff English langue class and has been seeking opportunities for them to study in MIT and other colleges to improve job skills and management capacity.
Ms. Terri Sewell proposed to bridge the connection between academies and GD (U.S.A), and also offered that a 60 years of Sino-US business cooperation agency that is experienced enough to help GD in the term of business management and communications. Moreover, she said she would like to help with the visa issues of Chinese staff may confront, and assigned on the spot an office staff to solve possible problems in future.
In the end of the visit, Mr. Dong Zhiqiang expressed his gratitude to guests for their time and support, and remarked that GD (U.S.A.) could not be in progress without our U.S staffs who have played increasingly significant roles, and we hope that our factory can be operated normally under the leadership of US employees in three years. All visitors affirmed and praised GD (U.S.A.)’s strong technical strength and mentioned that they will always be ready to help.
